Material Flow Challenges Solved at COAL-GEN 2015 by Quadrant’s TIVAR® 88 Liners

Known as the largest power generation event in the world, COAL-GEN 2014 drew over 20,000 attendees from the coal-fueled power industry.

Renown for their slick surfaces and long wear life, TIVAR® 88 polymer liners are ideal for the reduction or elimination of arching, ratholing, and erratic material flow challenges in bins, bunkers, hoppers, chutes, or railcars. Exclusively from Quadrant EPP, TIVAR® 88 is recognized worldwide as the premium performing lining material for bulk material handling—its abrasion, chemical, and corrosion resistance make it an excellent application for use with sand, salt, sugar, and other substances that cause extreme wear.

With a low coefficient of friction and no moisture absorption, TIVAR® 88 liners promote reliable, steady bulk material flow—optimal for the coal-fueled power industry. Stock shapes are available in compression-molded grades, as well as proprietary formulation grades that are UV resistant, flame resistant, and anti-static:

  • TIVAR® 88-2 is a silicone oil-filled UHMW-PE that offers the lowest coefficient of friction surface available with a dynamic C.O.F. of .08 (per QTM test method 55007). TIVAR® 88-2 can be fusion welded and extrusion welded to produce drop-in liners or oversized fabricated liner panels.

  • TIVAR® 88-2 ESd (Electro-static Dissipative) is a silicone oil-filled UHMW-PE that is static dissipative. Modified to exhibit anti-static properties, its surface resistivity ranges from 105 to 109 (ohms/cm2). TIVAR® 88-2 ESd can also be fusion welded and extrusion welded.

  • TIVAR® 88 with BurnGuard is a modified UHMW-PE with flame retardant properties used in applications where the material could potentially be exposed to combustive atmospheres or environments. TIVAR® 88 with BurnGuard has a UL Laboratories 94V-0 rating and MSHA approval.
